In this artwork, I use vertical black and white stripes to reconstruct the portrait and introduce rhythm, movement, and distortion. The woman’s face, framed by sunglasses, is transformed through repetition and contrast, allowing the image to shift as the viewer engages with it. The lines both reveal and disrupt, creating an optical tension that keeps the portrait in motion.
The background is built from layers of vivid pink and magenta graffiti, applied with expressive spray techniques. These textures inject raw energy and spontaneity into the composition, standing in deliberate contrast to the controlled structure of the stripes. The chaos of the background pushes forward, while the portrait holds its ground.
By combining street art aesthetics with optical illusion elements, this piece explores balance between order and rebellion, clarity and distortion. The result is a bold, vibrant work that challenges traditional portraiture and captures the intensity of contemporary urban culture.
